Cemetery cleanup begins Monday

ALEXANDRIA — The 2014 spring cleanup of Park View Cemetery will begin Monday and continue through March 31.

All ground decorations, ground flowers, fall and Christmas flowers, etc. that are to be kept by the family should be removed by March 16.

Spring and summer floral decorations can be placed on April 1 subject to the rules of the cemetery. Memorial Day flowers and decorations can be placed on May 19 and must be removed by June 2.

Clean out your medicine cabinet

ANDERSON -- Hoosiers who have unwanted medicines are invited to drop them off at a nearby Marsh Pharmacy during this spring’s “Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet” event.

Pharmacists at all Marsh and MainStreet Market Pharmacy locations will be collecting and qualifying over-the-counter and prescription medications for free disposal Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Alex mom to appear on live lottery show

INDIANAPOLIS — “The Hoosier Millionaire” show will head to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on April 17.

Stay-at-home mom Mary Head of Alexandria will be one of the contestants. Head entered seven tickets into mylottery second-chance promotion. One of them won her place on the Fort Wayne show.

Wanna-be “Hoosier Millionaire” contestants can enter their non-winning Hoosier Millionaire scratch-off tickets online through mylottery at http://click.mylottery.hoosierlottery.com.

Indiana 128 project underway

FRANKTON — Construction began Monday along Indiana 128/Sigler Street as part of a $1,238,844 combined pavement and enhancement project. During daytime hours, Sigler Street will be restricted to a single lane while crews work on the north side of the roadway. Those restrictions will be lifted during evening and nighttime hours.

Cemetery cleanup extended

MECHANICSBURG — The Mechanicsburg Cemetery has extended its cleanup date through March.
