---- — Epworth UMC hosts chicken noodles dinner
MATTHEWS — Epworth United Methodist Church, 108 W. Eighth St., will have its annual chicken noodles dinner on Sunday, April 13.
EUMC is known for its noodles served at Cumberland Covered Bridge Festival and this is an opportunity to enjoy a homemade chicken and noodle dinner prepared in the same tradition. Serving will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., and the community is invited to dine-in or carry out.
Dinners include chicken noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, beverage, and dessert. Freewill donations for the meal will be accepted for the EUMC Concert Outreach Ministry Fund.
Women’s League hosts annual Spring Luncheon
ANDERSON — The Women’s League of The Anderson Center for the Arts will hold its annual spring luncheon, which this year is called “Hats Off To Spring” in the Arts Center, 32 W. 10th St., on Wednesday, April 23, at noon. A musical performance will be presented by Vocalist and Instrumentalist, Gordon Brooks. There will also be a “Vera Bradley” drawing.
Tickets for the event are $20 each and may be purchased at the Anderson Center for the Arts from noon to 5 p.m. through the week and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. They may be also purchased from Women’s League members or by calling the League Treasurer, Martha Carmichael at 643-6151. Parking is available at the Anderson First Presbyterian Church at Ninth and Chase streets with a shuttle to the Center.

Cornfed Derby Dames host Derby City Roller Girls
MUNCIE — Muncie’s roller derby league, the Cornfed Derby Dames (CFDD), will host its second home bout on Sunday, April 6, at Gibson Skating Arena, 2610 S. Mock Ave. Doors open at 3 p.m. with a 4 p.m. start time. CFDD will take on the Derby City Roller Girls from Louisville, Ky.
Tickets are $8 in advance through Brown Paper Tickets (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/570518) or from any Cornfed Derby Dame, and $10 at the door (cash only). Free admission for children ages 10 and younger with purchase of an adult ticket (limit two children). Snacks and drinks are available (cash only) at the concession stand.
A portion of bout proceeds will go to the YMCA of Muncie Annual Campaign.
Chicken noodle dinner set
ANDERSON — The North Anderson Wesleyan Church will host a chicken and noodle dinner on Wednesday, April 2, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
CHA holds weight management class
ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson will offer an eight-week weight management class, held on eight consecutive Tuesdays from April 15 to June 3. The class will meet at noon in the Community Anderson Diabetes Care Center, located in the lower level of the 1601 building, on the hospital’s campus. The cost is $75.
Instructed by a registered dietitian, the class will include an individualized meal plan and guide, virtual grocery store tour, dining out tips, weigh-ins and consultations with a dietitian.

Public Mounds hike April 13
ANDERSON — The Indiana Forest Alliance will host a public hike in Mounds State Park in Anderson, at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 13th. This hike is part of IFA's Second Sunday Slow Saunter series.
Participants will experience the high bluffs, deep ravines, White River floodplain and groundwater wetlands of one of our smallest yet most diverse state parks during the peak of early spring wildflower season. Learn about the threatened heritage of this natural and archaeological jewel of east central Indiana. Meet at the Visitor’s Center on the left just past the gatehouse at 1:00 p.m. The hike should last about 2 1/2 hours.
