Children to audition for 'Mockingbird'

ANDERSON — Anderson's Mainstage Theatre will host children's auditions for its upcoming production of "To Kill A Mockingbird," from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Central Christian Church, 10th and Jackson streets.

Stage director is Roland VanHorn. These are specific auditions for the roles of Jem, Scout and Dill. Children ages 9 through 13 are encouraged to audition, the height of each will be considered.

General auditions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13.

Performance dates will be June 19-21 and 27-29.

Adult roles will include Miss Maudie and Miss Stephanie (over 40); Mrs. Dubose (senior); Calpurnia (woman of color over 40); and roles for seven men (35+) and approximately 15-20 people of color, various ages for the courtroom scenes.

Little Lions South registration underway

ANDERSON – Starting in the fall, Liberty Little Lions Center South will be offering full days for both its preschool and pre-K classes. Student dismissal and availability for pickup will be at either 11:30 a.m. or 2:40 p.m.

Enrollment has begun.

Last year, Liberty Christian School expanded its preschool and pre-K classes by offering a Liberty Little Lions Center South at Ovid Community Church, 793 E. 600S, Anderson.

Hospital presents 'A Fair for the Young at Heart'

ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson will host is 16th annual Fair for the Young at Heart at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, in the hospital’s lower level.

This event for seniors will include health screenings, health information from local vendors, entertainment, a light luncheon and door prizes. Josh Bleill, community spokesman with the Indianapolis Colts, and Dr. Jennifer Zook, radiation oncologist with Community Hospital Anderson, will be the guest speakers.

Fairmount gets ready for townwide sale

FAIRMOUNT — Fairmount’s eighth annual townwide rummage sale will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 3.

The sale will take place, rain or shine.

Pick up maps on May 3 at Hometown Express, Horner’s Market or Village Pantry.

Breakfast with Easter Bunny on April 12

ALEXANDRIA — "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny" will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Alexandria Community Center, 315 S. Harrison St.

Tickets are $3 per child and $5 per adult and may be purchased at the door.

Pictures will be taken for an additional fee.
