'Ride for Kimmie' to be on Oct. 6

ANDERSON — A motorcycle benefit, "Ride for Kimmie" will take place on Sunday, Oct. 6. Preregistration can currently be made at DT's R Bar, 1100 Martin Luther King Blvd.

Registration the day of the ride is at 9 a.m. Kickstands up at 11 a.m. The ride will make stops at Woody's Bar & Grill, Lapel; Stinger's in Elwood; Halo's and The Curve in Alexandria; and OB's in Anderson before returning to DT's, where the evening will end with music by Thomas Wayne Pruitt.

Cost is $15 per rider ($20 day of ride) and $25 per couple and includes T-shirt and meal.

Proceeds will go to Kim Whetsel for her medical needs. She has been diagnosed with non-curable cancer.

Auditions begin for 'The Christmas Miracle'

ANDERSON — Susan Wojciechowsk’s best-selling children’s book "The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey" will be presented in its first musical adaptation Dec. 6-8 at Ovid Community Church, 793 E. 600S.

Ovid Senior Pastor Keith Wooden wrote the theatrical adaptation of the book. Rod Smith, a local music producer, is writing music for the production.Auditions are open to the public as follows: 9-11 a.m. Saturday; and noon-1:30 p.m. Sunday in Ovid Community Church’s Choir Room by the south entrance.Available role parts range for children ages 5-10 as well as parts for teens and adults.

'Sock it to us 3' during PHHS parade

PENDLETON — Outfitters Inc., a South Madison County nonprofit, will have a float in the Pendleton Heights High School Homecoming parade on Friday at 6 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring packages of new youth-size socks to toss at the float during the parade.

New Life Deliverance Temple holds Believers Cry United Service

ANDERSON — New Life Deliverance Temple, 5019 Columbus Ave., will hold a Believers United Midnight Cry Service on Friday at 11 p.m. The public is invited to participate.
