---- — Superbull Dog Show at 4-H Fairgrounds on Saturday
ALEXANDRIA — The Indiana Superbull Dog Show hosted by the Canine Bodybuilding Association will be held beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Madison County 4-H Fairgrounds in Alexandria.
Registration will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is $10 and children under 10, $5.
This sport was created by the Rev. Scott Amos Sr. to provide an outlet for dog enthusiasts, providing conditioning and muscle building for their dogs as an alternative to the unofficial and illegal sport of dog fighting. This sport is for all breeds, pure bred and mixed.
The Canine Bodybuilding Association is still accepting participants. Pre-register to avoid the lines.
Monthly giveaway Saturday
ANDERSON — New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 2318 Sheridan St., will host its monthly giveaway from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Items will include clothing, household items, soap and dish liquid.
Panel aims to better civil legal aid to needy
INDIANAPOLIS — A new statewide commission is aimed at improving the availability of civil legal services for low-income Hoosiers.
The Indiana Supreme Court this week created the Indiana Commission to Expand Access to Civil Legal Services. Its 17 members will include judges, law professors, practicing attorneys, existing civil legal services providers, nonprofit groups and representatives from business, finance and labor.
Man’s body found in Indianapolis retention pond
INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis firefighters have recovered the body of a 57-year-old man found dead in an apartment complex retention pond on the city’s north side.
Authorities say a mowing crew found the body of Michael Hoffman of Indianapolis on Thursday morning.
