ANDERSON — The Indiana Pharmacists Alliance recently recognized Anderson pharmacist Ashley Townsend for individual excellence and outstanding contribution to the pharmacy association and community.
She completed a pharmacy practice residency with an emphasis in ambulatory care at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she also earned her advanced teaching certificate. In 2011, she became a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist. She also has a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish. She created the Alivio Pharmacy and became its director.
Townsend has designed, developed and licensed an independent outpatient pharmacy tailored to meet the needs of the local indigent Hispanic population.
The award was presented to Townsend during the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance's Annual Convention, held Sept. 19 in Indianapolis.
