4-H Farm Toy show to be Saturday

ALEXANDRIA — The first ever Madison County 4-H Farm Toy Show will be from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday at the 4-H building at the fairgrounds in Beulah Park.

Admission is $2 and children 12 and under will be admitted free. There will be door prizes and food.

Walk raises more than $42,000

ANDERSON — Hundreds of residents from Madison, Delaware, Henry, Grant, Blackford and Jay counties joined the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s and united in a movement to reclaim the future for millions Saturday at Shadyside Memorial Park.

Totals are being finalized, but initial numbers indicate that participants raised more than $42,000 to fund Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs.

The Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer’s is this Sunday at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis.

Civilian Review board meets Friday

ANDERSON — The Anderson Civilian Review will host a board meeting at 6 p.m. Friday in the Community Development meeting room of the City Building, 120 E. Eighth St.

Second Harvest tailgate next week

ELWOOD — The monthly Second Harvest Food Bank tailgate in Elwood will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church,1306 South A St., from 2 to 4 p.m. or while supplies last.

Cars should enter the parking lot from South A Street and exit on Main Street.

AHS Class of ’47 to host luncheon

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of ’47 will have its monthly luncheon today at 11:30 a.m. at Perkins Restaurant.

All class members and friends are invited.

Lawmaker not seeking re-election

INDIANAPOLIS — Another longtime Republican state senator says he won’t seek re-election next year.

Sen. Allen Paul of Richmond announced Wednesday he won’t seek an eighth term in his eastern Indiana district. The announcement follows a similar one by Sen. Tom Wyss of Fort Wayne last month.
