ANDERSON — Registrations are being accepted for the next EMT certification class, which begins Jan. 6. The class will meet two evenings each week through June at the Education Center at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, 1912 Jackson St. The schedule includes a few Saturday classes. The $800 fee includes CPR training, the textbook and other class materials. Following successful completion of the course, program graduates are eligible for the State of Indiana Certification Examination and the National EMT Registry Examination. Application for the state certification is dependent upon passing this examination. This course is required to be a paramedic.
To be considered for the program, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. All students must read, write, and speak English fluently. Documentation of a negative TB test required within past 12 months and this year’s flu vaccine.
