River coalition to make statement

ANDERSON — A representative of the Heart of the River coalition said the group plans to give a statement to the media on Friday regarding its opposition to the planned reservoir on the White River.

It will be at 10 a.m. at the Madison County 40/8 Lodge, 1600 Rangeline Road.

I-69 lane closures for repairs

ANDERSON — The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close the northbound right lane of Interstate 69 on the south side of Anderson for emergency repairs later this week. INDOT maintenance crews will remove and replace failed concrete pavement at two sites between I-69 mile markers 225.2 and 226.0.

Thursday 9 p.m. to midnight INDOT will saw-cut failed slabs, then reopen the lane. From 7 p.m. Friday through noon Sunday, I-69’s northbound right lane will be closed for failed slabs to be removed and new concrete poured. The lane will reopen around mid-day Sunday, allowing time for concrete to cure.

Single-lane traffic will be maintained in the I-69 northbound left lane during repair operations.

Scheduled work may be postponed due to inclement weather.

Roosevelt-Kennedy banquet Saturday

ELWOOD — The annual Roosevelt-Kennedy Club Banquet will be held Saturday at the Elwood Opera House.

Social hour is at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person and will be available at the door.

Container retirees to meet today

ANDERSON — Container retirees will meet at Perkins Family Restaurant, 5033 S. Scatterfield Road, today at 11:30 a.m.

Legion accepting food donations

FRANKTON — Frankton American Legion is collecting food donations through December for the baskets the Legion prepares for the needy families in Frankton area.

Items may be dropped off at the Legion, 116 N. Washington St.

Fishers pushes back trick-or-treating

FISHERS —The prospect of a stormy Halloween on Thursday prompted several central Indiana communities to change their trick-or-treat hours.
