Church to honor pastor at open house

ANDERSON — The Rev. Thomas and Becky Chapman will retire on April 20 after 31 years at the Eastview Church of the Nazarene.

An open house is planned in their honor from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church fellowship hall, 2552 E. 200S (38th Street).

All are invited and cards are welcome.

Bereavement support group to meet

ANDERSON — Margie Vandergraff, who provides bereavement support for St. Vincent Hospice-Anderson Region, will be the speaker for the Bereavement Support Ministry that meets at Bethany Christian Church, 1920 N. Rangeline Road, at 7 p.m. Thursday.

This will be in the Fireside Room of the church. Enter through the north door across from Highland Middle School.

All sessions are free of charge. Refreshments and fellowship will conclude the meetings.

Free dinner, program for veterans Friday

ANDERSON — Each month the Anderson Church of the Brethren, 741 N. Scatterfield Road, hosts a free dinner and program for veterans, active military and their families. The next Welcome Home will be held at 6 p.m. Friday.

Red Hat Chicks to meet for lunch

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Red Hat Chicks will meet at noon April 16 at the Hacienda Vieja in the Marsh Plaza in Pendleton.

Members are ask to call Barbara Mercer at 778-3868 to confirm reservations.

Grief and Loss Series begins Thursday

PENDLETON — Struggling with a loss of any kind in your life may present challenges of the unexpected. Are you looking for practical tools, resources, and most of all, hope? The Pendleton Community Public Library will offer a six-week series exploring grief and loss every Thursday, April 10 through May 15, 11 a.m. to noon.
