Aviation board to meet today

ANDERSON — The Board of Aviation Commissioners regular meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. today in the Airport Conference Room.

Fresh produce giveaway Wednesday

ANDERSON — The Anderson Impact Center, in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank, will have a fresh produce giveaway at 2 p.m. Wednesday (while supplies last) at the Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.

County Tea Party meeting on Thursday

ANDERSON — The Tea Party of Madison County will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the FOP Lodge, 2614 Mounds Road.

Guest speakers will be Steven Sumner and Mike Phipps, Republican candidates for 2nd District County Council, and Anthony Emery, Republican candidate for 4th District County Council.

Sam Hanna, Republican candidate for sheriff, will also speak.

Learn how to launch business at library

ANDERSON —The Anderson Public Library and the Anderson/Madison County Black Chamber of Commerce are partnering to offer a free workshop at the Main Library, 111 E. 12th St., at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24, on launching a successful business. This hands-on workshop will help participants launch or re-launch their own businesses.

Participants will be provided with documents and assistance to apply for a business name, employer identification number, and minority business certification if applicable. Information will also be provided on the general requirements for Indiana businesses, business plans, employee and owner benefits, and business continuation planning.

Eagles to nominate officers this week

ANDERSON — The Anderson Eagles Aerie 174, located at 1315 Meridian St., will be having nominations of officers on Thursday beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Food safety course offered

ANDERSON — The Anderson Impact Center in partnership with Ivy Tech Corporate College will be offering the ServSafe Food Safety Certification Course on Tuesday, April 29, and Thursday, May 1. Both workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individuals must attend both class sessions in full in order to sit for the Serv Safe Food Safety Certification Exam.
