Annual Good Friday service set

ANDERSON — Everyone is invited to the annual Community Good Friday Worship Service sponsored jointly by the Christian Clergy Association of Anderson and the Concerned Ministers of Anderson.

This ecumenical community worship experience will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1540 W. 16th St. The Rev. John Hackney of Cross Roads United Methodist Church will bring the Good Friday message and the proceeds of the Good Friday offering will help fund the All City Church Picnic, which will be held Sunday, Aug. 17, at Jackson Park.

Triad to discuss veterans' affairs

ANDERSON — The Triad meeting is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Anderson Mounds Mall in the theater area. Jay Randolph, the veterans affairs administrator, will talk about benefits for veterans and their families' benefits.

Also under discussion will be a bill sponsored by Sen. John Walsh, D-Mont., which is designed to change military policy to reduce veteran suicides. An estimated 22 veterans die by suicide each day, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Also, Anderson Police Chief Larry Crenshaw will talk about the Senior Link program, which is a partnership between Triad and the Anderson Police Department.

'Cyber Safety' session is April 30

PENDLETON — "Cyber Safety," a free presentation for parents and community members, will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, in the auditorium of Pendleton Heights High School.

Topics include keeping your child safe on the Internet; cyberbullying; what’s new in social media; how social media works, how to stay safe and what parents can do to ensure their child is being responsible on the Internet. The session is provided by the Social Health Association of Indianapolis.

Conduit being installed today

ANDERSON — AT&T will be installing conduit today at the intersection of 53rd and Main streets on the south side of the intersection, according to a press release from the City of Anderson Department of Engineering.
