Pet Parade Saturday in Falls Park

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Lions Club will host its annual Pet Parade at 4 p.m. Saturday. The walk will start by the gazebo and continue along Pendleton Avenue to the big red barn.

There will be a pet contest, so your pets can be dressed up. Following the pet contest, hot dogs will be available.

Microchipping will be available for $20 and nail trimming for $5.

Fish fry tonight at Pendleton FUMC

PENDLETON — An all-you-can-eat community fish fry will be held tonight at Pendleton First United Methodist Church, 225 W. State St.

Serving hours are from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 6 through 12 (children 5 and under eat free) and includes batter-fried fish, fries, cole slaw, hush puppies, dessert, and drink. There will also be live music and bounce houses and games for the children. The event is sponsored by the church’s United Methodist Men with proceeds going to the church’s debt relief fund.

AHS choirs to host Saturday car wash

ANDERSON — A car wash will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Family Video, 615 S. Scatterfield Road.

Proceeds will benefit the Anderson High School choirs.

Donations will be accepted.

Markleville cookbooks available

MARKLEVILLE — The Markleville 100-year cookbooks have arrived. They will be sold at the Farmers Market in Markleville Park on Saturday morning.

Cost is $12 or combined with the Markleville Jamboree bag, $15.

Crossroads UMC to host dinner

ANDERSON — Crossroads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road, will host a pork chop dinner at noon Sunday.

The menu will include pork chops (chicken for the children), macaroni and cheese, vegetable, salad, dessert and drink. All money will be used for repairs and landscaping at the parsonage. All of the food has been donated. A donation for the meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
