Infant dies from positional asphyxia

ANDERSON — Four-month-old Gabriyel S. Gilley of Anderson was found dead Tuesday after apparently wriggling out of an infant seat on the floor of the family home. Gabriyel was found lying face down on the floor, according to Madison County Coroner Marian Dunnichay.

Dunnichay said the infant appeared to have died from positional asphyxiation, which occurs when body position prevents proper breathing.

Dunnichay said there was no malice or negligence in the death, it was just a tragic accident. She also noted that results of an autopsy will be available in 6-8 weeks.

26th annual John Dillinger Car Show

DALEVILLE — The 26th annual Bank Robbery Run John Dillinger Car Show will be Saturday at Daleville Elementary School. Daleville Classic Car Club is the event sponsor.

From 8 a.m. to noon, registration will take place. At 3 p.m., the awards ceremony gets underway.

The show also will feature 50/50 drawings, door prizes (including the main door prize as $500), food vendors and a disc jockey playing rock from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

The entry fee for the show the day of the show is $12.

Prairie Farms to celebrate anniversary

ANDERSON — Prairie Farms Dairy is celebrating its 75th anniversary with free community events across the Midwest. One of these events is taking place in Anderson from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Athletic Park. The event is open to community members, families and employees.

Attendees will have the chance to sample new products as well as old favorites, enjoy cake and sign a giant anniversary card. All guests will be able to enter to win a year’s supply of dairy products or a family vacation. There will also be multiple educational booths set up to teach families about farming, general health, the benefits of chocolate milk and more.
