Food Giveaway Thursday in Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA — The Madison County Community Health Center, in conjunction with Second Harvest Food Bank, will offer a free Fresh Produce Giveaway from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Alexandria Community Center, 315 S. Harrison St. (A brief appearing in The Herald Bulletin on Wednesday had the wrong date for the food giveaway.)
There will also be blood pressure checks and other services offered at the site. Residents will be limited to one quantity of produce per household.

Marching Highlanders ice cream social set for July 31
ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Marching Band will host an ice cream social on Wednesday, July 31, at the AHS Football concessions.
Food will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring Good’s Ice Cream, brownies, burgers and hot dogs.
The Marching Highlanders will perform their State Fair show “Dragons of Legends” at 7:30 p.m. on the football field.
Church to host Friday and Saturday rummage sale
ANDERSON — Central Community Chapel, 1004 Indiana Ave., (corner of North Street and Indiana Avenue), Anderson, will host a rummage sale beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Central Christian presents ‘Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.’
ANDERSON — Central Christian Church, 10th and Jackson streets, Anderson, is hosting (C.A.M.P.) with “Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.” now through Aug. 3. The two-week evening camp is for kids to learn the history of the Jewish people, dancing, drama, music, set and costume design, all ending in a performance of “Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.” on Saturday, Aug 3.
The event is designed for kids age 4 through high school.

Renowned magician Rusty Ammerman at Good’s Free Stage
ANDERSON — World renowned magician Rusty Ammerman will perform on the Good’s Free Stage, 1423 W. 53rd St., Anderson, at 7 p.m. Friday.
Ammerman has performed all over the world and is a frequent guest at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. His performance will amaze family members of all ages.
This event is free to public. Please bring a lawn chair.
AHS Class of ‘62 to gather for lunch Friday
ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of 1962 will have its monthly luncheon at 11 a.m. Friday at Perkins in Anderson.
All classmates and spouses are invited.
NHS to host ‘Black and Gold’ band competition
NOBLESVILLE — Noblesville High School will host its third annual Black and Gold Invitational, a Central Indiana Track Show Band Association marching band competition, on Friday at Hare Chevrolet Field at Noblesville East Middle School at 6:30 p.m. The 2013 competition will be the largest CITSA competition in the state outside of the annual State Fair Band Day competition.
Local schools scheduled to participate include Anderson, Elwood, Frankton, Lapel, Muncie Southside, Noblesville, and Yorktown.
The public is invited to attend and gates open at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $6 and children ages 5 and under are free.
Legion serving up rocky mountain oysters
CHESTERFIELD — The American Legion Riders 408 will have a rocky mountain oyster dinner on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. at the post at 5100 Mounds Road, Chesterfield.
Cost is $6 for a dinner. Sloppy Joes will also be available for $5.
Cross Roads to hold Big Tent Revival
ANDERSON — Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road, Anderson, will have an old-fashioned Big Tent Revival July 26-28.
Revival services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday with an ice cream social following the service.
Children’s Day will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday with pony rides and a petting zoo. This for children kindergarten through fifth grade.
Revival services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. An all-church picnic will be held at noon Sunday.
