IU football viewing party at Rigo's
ANDERSON — The Indiana University Alumni Association of Madison County will host an IU football TV viewing party at Rigo's restaurant (Grandview Golf Course) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The team will play at Michigan.
Drinks and food will be provided at no charge, along with door prizes. All IU fans are welcome.

Eagles celebrate October fest Saturday
ANDERSON — The Anderson Eagles 173, 1315 Meridian St., will celebrate Octoberfest beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday.
German food will be served and there will be a cake walk, bingo, raffles and a silent auction.
The Flying Eagles band will entertain from 7 to 11 p.m. There is no cover charge.
Retirement planning seminar offered
CHESTERFIELD — A free presentation by tax preparer Dan Royer is set for 7 p.m. Monday at Chesterfield Christian Church, 207 E. Plum St. The seminar is for those retired or planning for retirement, and Royer will discuss the changes in the PERF and TRF programs.
Drop unwanted medicine at Marsh
ANDERSON — Hoosiers who have unwanted medicines cluttering their shelves are invited to drop them off at a nearby Marsh Pharmacy during this fall's "Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet" event. Pharmacists at all Marsh Pharmacy locations will be collecting and qualifying over-the-counter and prescription medications for free disposal on the following dates and times:
— Friday, October 25, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.— Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.— Sunday, October 27, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.— Monday, October 28, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Soroptimist fundraiser Oct. 29
ANDERSON — Soroptimist International of Anderson will be have a fundraising dinner at Garfield's Restaurant from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Garfield's will donate a portion of the evening's food sales to the local women's service club. This includes dine-in and carry-out sales. These proceeds will be used to fund the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards, Virginia M. Wagner Educational Grants and the Violet Richardson Awards or volunteerism.
Application information for these grants and awards for women and girls will be available at the dinner. The Soroptimist mission statement and membership information will also be available for interested women. Soroptimist International of Anderson has been supporting women and girls locally and throughout the world since 1953.
Fall Fest, Bluegrass Saturday
ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Care Center, 1912 S. Park Ave., will host a Fall Festival and Bluegrass Jamboree from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Lapel legion host fish dinner
LAPEL — The Lapel American Legion will have an all-you-can eat fish dinner on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will be Alaskan Pollock, cole slaw, french fries, baked beans, corn cakes, dessert, tea and coffee. The price is $8 per person and is open to the public.
Club to place Freedom Shrine at APA
ANDERSON — The Anderson Noon Exchange Club will be placing a Freedom Shrine at Anderson Preparatory Academy, 101 W. 29th St., at noon Tuesday, October 22. The Freedom Shrine is a permanently mounted collection of 30 of the most important and historic American documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Gettysburg Address.
The Noon Exchange Club has placed dozens of the Freedom Shrines throughout Madison County, focusing on schools, libraries, and public buildings. Anyone interested in learning more about the Freedom Shrine, and being considered for one in their school or building, should contact Bonny Clark at (765) 617-5912.
