---- — Pendleton library welcomes storyteller

PENDLETON — On Saturday, the Pendleton Community Public Library will welcome Brigette Cook Jones, president of the Hancock County Historical Society. Jones will share a story about the real person who inspired one of James Whitcomb Riley’s most famous poems. The program will start at 2 p.m. at the library, 595 E. Water St., Pendleton.

This free program is family-friendly, and is open to the public. Reservations are appreciated.

VFW to host dinner Friday

ANDERSON — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave., Anderson, will host a wings or steak dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.

All-you-can-eat wings or a steak with French fries, slaw and a roll for $7.

At 7:30 p.m. until closing, entertainment will be provided by Elvis and Johnny Cash impersonators.

Library’s Fall Fiesta slated for Thursday

ANDERSON — Anderson Public Library’s annual Fall Fiesta, a free family event, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Cardinal Room at the Main Library, 111 E. 12th St., Anderson.

The event will feature storytelling, songs, and a fall craft. Children are invited to wear costumes.

Church hosts 'Boo Bash'

ANDERSON — New Covenant Ministry Center Church of God will host its fifth annual Boo Bash on Saturday.

There will be a trunk-and-treat (may come in costume). There will be food, a bounce house, games, face painting and more.

The Halloween alternative will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at the church at 1224 E. 44th St., Anderson. There is no charge.
