---- — Buchman to speak to Rotary

ANDERSON — Angela Buchman, longtime Indianapolis television meteorologist, will be the guest speaker at the Anderson Rotary Club noon meeting, on Tuesday at the Anderson Country Club.

The Indianapolis native and Purdue University grad has captivated local audiences since she landed on the Indianapolis weather radar in 2001, after stops in West Lafayette and Sacramento, Calif., and a stint with the National Weather Service. She has earned two Emmy awards for “best weathercaster."

In September, she will make her debut on WTHR, Indianapolis Channel 13.

Dental checks to be given

ANDERSON — CHAP Immunization/Dental Checks/Behavioral Health Assessments will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Madison County Community Health Center, 1547 Ohio Ave., Anderson.

NAACP to meet Sunday

ANDERSON — The Madison County Branch NAACP will host a general membership meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Branch office, 1015 W. 15th St., Anderson. For more information contact James Burgess, president, at 649-4231.

Donors get access to Colts tent

ANDERSON — Residents donating to the City of Anderson's Hospitality Tent will get access to the Colts at training camp.

For $100 one receives one ticket to the hospitality tent, which gives you access to the tent for one day. With the ticket, you will receive one food voucher worth $10 for use at the concessions stand. There will be a donor recognition sign placed in the tent with the names of all who donated.

On Aug. 13 and 16, tickets are $50 due to the shorter practice schedule.

Each day one football autographed by Coach Chuck Pagano will be raffled off to that day's attendees. At the end of camp, a pair of season tickets will be raffled off to one attendee of the Hospitality Tent.

Only 300 tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

VBS through Sunday at Elm Grove

ANDERSON — Elm Grove Christian Church, 2940 N. 300W, will host Vacation Bible School tonight through Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The free event is geared for children of all ages. This year's theme is "Mission to Mars. Meet a risen savior."

Household goods giveaway

ANDERSON — New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 2318 Sheridan St., Anderson, will conduct its July monthly giveaway of basic household goods Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. (while supplies last).

Items will include, (but are not limited to) various clothing items, dish washing detergent, body/hand soap, and paper products for households in need of such items.
