---- — George Wolfe to speak at Unity

ANDERSON — Unity Church of Anderson, 2425 Mounds Road, will host Ball State University professor and author George Wolfe at 11 a.m. Sunday.

He will speak about the spiritual implications of DNA analysis and how his own family was affected when a longtime family mystery was solved using the technique. Dr. Wolfe’s talk is titled, “Science, DNA and Revelation: How I Discovered My Past Was Not My Past,” and will describe the impact his brother's DNA analysis had on his own personal identity.

Wolfe coordinates outreach programs for the Ball State Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, chairs the Muncie Interfaith Fellowship group, and teaches mediation. He is the author of the book "The Spiritual Power of Nonviolence: Interfaith Understanding for a Future Without War."

AHS class of '65 meets Aug. 17

ANDERSON — The AHS Class of 1965 will be meeting on Aug. 17 to celebrate its 48th anniversary of graduation. The gathering will be held at Shouts Sports Pub in Anderson at 6 p.m.

Dinner and drinks from the menu will be on your own tab. A $3 donation will be collected at the door to cover the gathering expenses. There will be a $5 cover charge for those arriving after 9 p.m., when the band plays. Please RSVP to, (765) 393-3910, or (765) 649-9201.

The 50th reunion steering committee will be meeting briefly at 6 p.m. to set the date for the 50th anniversary reunion. Everyone is encouraged to join the discussion. Please report any change of personal information and/or comments and suggestions to the above contacts.

There will also be a breakfast on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the Golden Corral on Scatterfield Road in Anderson.

Last chance to check out Pioneer Families exhibit

ANDERSON — The Madison County Historical Society’s Pioneer Families exhibit is set to close on Wednesday but the exhibit will be open today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for those who are unable to visit during the week.

There is no charge to visit this or any other event at the Madison County History Center, 9 W. 11th St. in downtown Anderson. Call 683-0052 for more information.

Alex class of '63 seeks classmates

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Monroe High School class of 1963 is having its 50th reunion Sept. 20-21 and needs to contact Dola Ice Morris, Shirley Cordial Potts, Mike Mason, Della Shane (Becky Campbell), Janet Nash Turner, Diane Spooner and Sharon Davis Wilson.

Christ Temple VBS begins Monday

ANDERSON — Christ Temple Church, 1610 W. 22nd St., will have Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. July 22-26.

The school is for those from kindergarten age to eighth grade as well as adults.

WWII bomber coming to Muncie

MUNCIE — A World War II bomber B-25J, "Maid in the Shade" and a Dixie Wing Airbase Red Nose P-51D will be on display from July 22-28 at the Delaware County Regional Airport in Muncie.

The planes can be toured or flights are available for a fee. The sponsoring organization is The Airbase Arizona of the Commemorative Air Force, which is a flying museum staffed by volunteers.
