Coroner seeking relatives of deceased man

ANDERSON — A white male, Christopher Cook, age 52, was found deceased at Pulaski Park on Thursday.

Born Oct. 22, 1961, Cook, a homeless white man, stood 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed 165 pounds.

Anyone knowing any relatives or friends of the deceased is asked to call Madison County Coroner Marian Dunnichay at 623-0552.

ANDERSON — Critter Conversations today on WHBU 1240 will host Major Brian Bell from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Bell will address what it takes to change the present system where animal abusers go free after abusing and or killing animals. Call 378-2086 to ask questions, make comments or state your opinion.

Kim Lott, Madison County Animal Control Officer, will appear from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and will speak on animal care and control issues she faces and how citizens can assist in the investigation of these crimes and put a stop to ongoing animal abuse.

Pet nail, microchip clinic planned

ANDERSON — The Madison County Humane Society, 2219 Crystal St., will conduct its monthly nail and microchip clinic and heartworm testing from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the shelter.

The cost is $5 for a nail trim, $10 for a heartworm test and $20 for microchipping. No appointment is necessary. Pets must be on a leash.

Breakfast at Second Chance Church

ANDERSON — Second Chance Baptist Church, 720 E. Seventh St., Anderson, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Easter Sunday.

Call Pastor Mike at 617-6078 if your family needs a ride or to RSVP for the breakfast.

Women’s League hosts annual Spring Luncheon

ANDERSON — The “Hats Off” Spring Luncheon, sponsored by the Women’s League of The Anderson Center for the Arts, will be at noon Wednesday in the Anderson Center, 32 W. 10th St. A musical performance will be presented by vocalist and instrumentalist Gordon Brooks. There will also be a “Vera Bradley” drawing.

This event is supported by the $20 per person ticket price. Parking is available at First Presbyterian Church at Ninth and Chase streets with a shuttle to the Center.
