Authors to discuss city’s fire history
ANDERSON — The authors of “A History of Anderson, Indiana and its Fire Department” will talk about the book from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Madison County Historical Society, 15 W. 11th St.
The book, written by Terry King and Jim Jackson, details the history of the fire department from its early days up to the 1999 fire at Anderson High School. Orders are being accepted for the book though mtpublishing.com or by calling (888) 263-4702.
Produce giveaway set for Wednesday
ANDERSON — The Anderson Impact Center in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank will have a fresh produce giveaway at 2 p.m. Wednesday (while supplies last) at The Anderson Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.
Individuals are encouraged to bring their own bags.
Civil War roundtable Monday
ANDERSON — The May meeting of the Madison County Historical Society Civil War Roundtable will be on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Madison County History Center, 15 W. 11th St. Stephen Lee Ritchie will speak on “Jackson & Ashby: Partners in Command.”
Tea party to meet Thursday
ANDERSON — The Tea Party of Madison County will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the FOP Lodge, 2614 Mounds Road.
Guest speakers are Dan Wehner of Madison County Friends of NRA and Don Bates Jr., who is seeking the Republican Party nomination for state treasurer.
Noon Exchange meets today
ANDERSON — The Anderson Noon Exchange Club will meet today at The Edge at 11:30 a.m. for its luncheon meeting.
Guest speakers include executive director of the Exchange Club Family Resource Center Jama Donovan and Cara Roach of Relay for Life.
The Exchange Club is a local service club dedicated to make its community a better place to live with emphasis on child abuse prevention.
