MOB registration set for Thursday

ANDERSON — Merchants Older Buddies (MOB) registration will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Park Place Community Center, 802 E. Fifth St. Use the East entrance.

The registration offers discounts to those 60 years of age and older at various area merchants. There is a one-time fee of $4.

ASO fundraiser at Garfield's Thursday

ANDERSON — Anderson Symphony Orchestra Friends will have a fundraising dinner at Garfield's Restaurant on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Garfield's will donate a percentage of the evening's food sales to the local service group. This includes both dine-in and carry-out sales.

ASO Friends is a group of community volunteers dedicated to the active support of The Anderson Symphony Orchestra through fundraising and volunteer assistance.

Pendleton AMVETS host hog roast

PENDLETON — The AMVETS Post 26, 939 S. Broadway, will host a hog roast at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14.

All-you-can-eat is just $7 per person. You must be 18 and over to attend.

Proceeds benefit AMVETS Post 26 Veterans Monument Fund. Donations accepted and appreciated.

Lapel Community Band's Tunes and Treats

LAPEL — The Lapel Community Band, under the direction of John Parshall, will perform Friday, June 13, at 7 p.m. at Good's Candy and Ice Cream Shop, 1423 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy "˜big band" music a la mode in a relaxed atmosphere.

The program, varied in musical style, features a variety of audience favorites, including "More Than You Know," "Alexander's Ragtime Band" and "Golden Age of Broadway."

Pendleton High Class of '61 meets

PENDLETON — The Pendleton High Class of '61 will meet at the Community Building in Falls Park at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Bring a sack lunch, your family, grandkids, brothers and sisters or parents. Drinks will be provided.
