Lapel Village Fair set for weekend
LAPEL — The annual Lapel Village Fair will take place Saturday and Sunday. Townwide rummage sales will begin today and run through the weekend.
Fair times are Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be many craft and food booths along Main Street as well as entertainment under the tent, walk-run at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, cruise-in car show Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a Saturday parade at 3:30 p.m.
Call Connie at 534-3442 for parade information. Other highlights will be a free concert by Dove Award winner Doug Anderson on South Main Street at 7 p.m., a bluegrass festival at Daybreak Church on Saturday and a corn hole tournament Sunday at 1 p.m.

Seeking blood donors for area drives
ANDERSON — Blood donations are needed at Indiana Blood Center Indiana Blood Center.
American Red Cross recently issued a critical plea for blood donors. While Indiana Blood Center, the state’s largest independent blood-provider, is not in a critical situation, it is calling on individuals to visit the nearest Indiana Blood Center donor center or mobile drive within the next 36-48 hours.
Today — Elwood High School, 2 to 7 p.m., gymnasium.
Saturday — Kiwanis Kar Show, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Falls Park, Pendleton
Monday — Community Hospital of Anderson, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., basement conference rooms 6 & 7
Tuesday — The Herald Bulletin, 1 to 5 p.m., lower level parking lot
Tuesday — Alexandria-Monroe High School, lobby, 2-6 p.m.
Southside Crime Watch meeting Thursday
ANDERSON — The next Southside Crime Watch District 1 meeting will be 6 p.m. Thursday at East Lynn Christian Church, 522 E. 53rd St..
Any southside neighborhood resident or interested party is invited to attend. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month through November.
