---- — MHHS Class of '63 to host 50th class reunion

ANDERSON — The Madison Heights High School Class of 1963 will have its 50th reunion on Sept. 21. There will be a golf outing on Friday, Sept. 20 at Edgewood Golf course, a Ladies Margarita lunch at The Edge and an evening gathering at Garfield's at 5 p.m. The reunion will be Saturday at The Edge.

Stephen Jackson to speak at meeting

ANDERSON — The Madison County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Madison County History Center, 11 W. 11th St., Anderson.

The program, "Uncommon Dream, Uncommon Tragedy," will be presented by Madison County Historian Stephen T. Jackson. It is the story of Dr. Leonard Schmauss, who founded the Alexandria Hospital in 1908, and a series of tragedies that beset his family, culminating in one of the most horrific crimes in Alexandria's history, the murder of the Alexandria Chief of Police in 1927.

It is an intriguing story complete with photographs and newly discovered information that will provide a fascinating look at Alexandria and intothe life of one of the city's more prominent and influential families of a century ago.

Meetings are free and open to the public.

AHS Class of '62 to meet for lunch

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of 1962 will have its monthly luncheon this Friday at Rigo's in Grandview at noon.

All classmates and spouses are invited.

Pring family reunion set for Sunday

CADIZ — The Pring reunion will be held on Sunday at the Cadiz Community Building. A pitch-in dinner will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Table service will be provided. For additional information call 533-6222.

Marching Arabians to host car wash

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights Marching Arabians will have a car wash Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on State Street in Pendleton.

Donations will be accepted that will benefit the band department.

Lions/Kiwanis clubs to meet Thursday

ANDERSON — The Lions/Kiwanis clubs will meet Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for lunch. At 12:20 p.m., there will be a free program with Terry Stephens, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. The groups meet in the lower level of the First United Methodist Church, 1215 Jackson St. Everyone is invited. Free parking will be available behind the church.

Cost for lunch is $7.

Indy Symphonic Band to perform Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Symphonic Band will perform its third outdoor band concert at Fort Harrison State Park on Saturday from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. at the park sledding hill. The 45-minute concert will feature popular music from such noted composers such Anderson, Sousa, Mancini, Williams and others.

Concert-goers are also encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for seating, as well as bug spray and snacks. This concert is pet and stroller friendly.

There is no cost to attend the program, but the normal IDNR $5/in-state or $7/out-of-state vehicle gate fee applies. For more information, contact the visitors center at (317) 591-0122.
