Teachers join juvenile facility
PENDLETON — The Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility (PNJCF) recently welcomed two new teachers, Shannon Fields and Michael Winn.
Fields earned his bachelor’s degree at Grand Canyon University in elementary/special education. Fields worked in public education for the past four years. Before pursuing his career in education, Fields spent 12 years working with at-risk youth at the Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie, It was here that he began to gain a passion to work with at-risk youth.
Winn received his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in May 2013. He is a current member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).
