Community Briefs: Sept. 13

'50s and '60s dance set for Sunday

ANDERSON — The Footloose Square Dance Club is hosting a '50s and '60s dance on Sunday at the Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.

Caller will be Jimmy Robison and cuer is Gary Hutton. Pre-rounds begin 6 p.m. with squares from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Organizers urged everyone to dress up in their favorite vintage clothes from that era.

Church rummage today

ANDERSON — Full Gospel Church, 5105 Columbus Ave. (former site of Petticoat Junction) will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday.

Clothing and miscellaneous items will be offered for sale.

Chicken dinner served Saturday

ANDERSON — Faith Tabernacle Church is hosting a barbecue chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Dinners may be picked up at 820 Nichol Ave. Cost is $8.

Garden Club to host monthly meeting

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the the home of Linda and Duane Briars, "The Briar Patch."

The program will be a "Make It & Take It Workshop." The public is invited. Refreshments will be served.

Students to England to host chicken and noodle meal

LAPEL — Friday, Sept. 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Lapel High School "Students to England 2014" will sponsor a chicken and noodle dinner in the Commons Area of LHS.

Adult ticket price is $7, and student ticket price is $3. This price includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll and a drink. Dessert will be available for purchase for $1.50. The meal will take place prior to the homecoming football game with Triton Central.

Tickets may be purchased in advanced from LHS juniors or at the door that evening.

Profits from this fundraiser will go to help students pay for their trip to Europe in the fall of 2014.
