ANDERSON, Ind. — A compilation of community news briefs, as published in the Monday edition of The Herald Bulletin.

Church women offer Abundance Meal

MARKLEVILLE — The Christian Women’s Fellowship “Comfort Keepers” of East Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will have their monthly “God Abundance Meal” on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lower fellowship hall of the Markleville church, 124 E. Main St.

The menu includes chicken noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, dessert and drink with a freewill offering accepted. Carryouts will be available; shut-ins or small businesses in the immediate area can request carryouts delivered by calling the church, 533-4996, day of the meal or Diane, 533-2330 as early as possible.  

Gruenewald plans annual Wine Gala

ANDERSON — The Gruenewald House is hosting its annual Wine Gala and Auction at the Military Museum Officers’ Club on Saturday, May 18, from 5 to 9 p.m.  The event features live and silent auctions with auctioneer Gary Simmons. The food buffet includes offerings from 12 area restaurants. Wine and soft drinks are also included in the $20 ticket price. A table of eight is $140.

Tickets are available at Moneyhun’s Fine Gifts and Furnishings, the Gruenewald House, 648-6875, or any Gruenewald board member.

Library taking cookbook orders

DALEVILLE — The Daleville Community Library Lovers’ Cookbook is now on sale. Pre-orders are taking place for this collection of more than 250 recipes from local residents.

Stop by the library to reserve a copy. Cost is $10.

Malone of MCCHC to speak at Exchange

ANDERSON — The Anderson Noon Exchange Club will host Tony Malone, CEO/COO of the Madison County Community Health Centers Inc., at the luncheon meeting at The Edge Golf and Dining on Tuesday, May 7. The Health Center is a community-based and patient-directed organization that serves populations with limited access to health care.

The community is invited to attend the luncheon at $10 per person. Reservations should be made by calling Bonny Clark at 617-5912.
