College of Theology to host open house

ANDERSON — The Metropolitan College of Theology will host an open house on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Anderson Impact Center, 620 Nichol Ave.

Students can receive their complete Bible College Education and enrollment is now underway. The college's president is Dr. James E. Streeter, Ph.D.

Second Harvest Tailgate at the Old Plant 18

ANDERSON — Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana will provide food for families in need at a Tailgate distribution from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the old Plant 18, 2900 S. Scatterfield Road.

The Tailgate will take place in the parking area on the north side of the building. The distribution is while supplies last, and there is a limit of three families per vehicle. For traffic control purposes we ask that participants not line up before 11 a.m. the day of the tailgate.

Library to be closed during Grand Prix

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria-Monroe Public Library will be closed for the second annual Alex Grand Prix on Saturday. It will reopen at 9 a.m. Monday.

Lafayette Township board meets

ANDERSON — The Lafayette Township Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 to discuss the purchase of a new backup generator for the fire department, according to Steve Anderson, township trustee.

The board meets at 3235N CR 100 W.

MLK Commission hosts Work Keys Program

ANDERSON — Are you looking for a job and want to become more marketable? The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Commission has a Work Keys Program for help.

Those interested can also stop by the office at 2030 W. 16th St. Office hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. and 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
