THB seeks breast cancer survivors

Are you a breast cancer survivor? If so, The Herald Bulletin would like to hear from you.

Please send us a photo and a brief story about your experience, limited to 250 words. The Herald Bulletin will select submissions for publication in our upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness special section, to be published Oct. 4.

Stories and photos are needed by Monday, Sept. 23 and can be mailed to Janis Bowling, The Herald Bulletin, P.O. Box 1090, Anderson, IN 46016 or emailed to janis.bowling@heraldbulletin.com.

Historical society meets Monday

ANDERSON — The Madison County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Madison County History Center, 15 W. 11th St.

The complete story of “The Independent Loudoun Rangers” will be presented during the meeting by Steve Jackson, Madison County historian.

Correctional facility hosts job fair

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Correctional Facility (Indiana Reformatory) will host a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at its training center, 4490 W. Reformatory Road.

It is accepting positions for correctional officer trainees. Bring your high school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license and second form of ID (such as birth certificate, passport or Social Security card); and any documents relevant to the position for which you are applying.

Offers of employment will be contingent upon submitting to and passing a background check.

Tourism Commission to meet Wednesday

NEW CASTLE — The Henry County Tourism Commission will meet at the Henry County Convention & Visitors Bureau office at 9 a.m. Wednesday. The meeting is open to the public.

Anyone needing assistance to attend should contact Lee Stacey at 593-0764 at least 24 hours before Wednesday.

Eminent domain ruling is upheld

JEFFERSONVILLE — The Indiana Supreme Court has affirmed a Court of Appeals ruling that Clark County will have to pay more than $900,000 to the estate of a woman whose property was taken by eminent domain for an airport runway expansion.
