Prenatal program underway at clinic
ANDERSON — The Madison County Community Health Center started a 10-week session Prenatal Centering Program on June 11. The Centering Pregnancy Program is available to pregnant mothers in a group setting. They are part of a Centering Community that includes: taking care of yourself and your child and helping to build healthy communities one group at a time.
The first session dealt with smoking cessation or contact with second-hand smoke. The mothers who smoked agreed to quit. They willingly agreed to complete the Indiana Tobacco Quitline (ITQL) referral forms. Their progress will be monitored at the meetings that follow. The next Centering group session is scheduled for July 9.
For more information, call Matilda Barber, nurse educator and Centering Pregnancy coordinator, at 641-0255, ext. 266.
