Saturday fish fry will benefit GMWA

ANDERSON — A fish fry from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Church Upon the Rock, 303 E. 29th St., will benefit members of the North Central Indiana Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) to attend the group’s national convention later this month.

Fish, two sides, dessert and drink will be served for $8, cost for seniors 62 and up will be $7.

Deliveries of two or more dinners can be made by calling 602-3368 or 606-8912.

Motorcyclists to raise funds for K-9 Gizmo

MIDDLETOWN — A benefit ride to raise funds for the care and training of Gizmo, the Middletown police K9 dog, will be held on Saturday.

Cost is $20 for rider and $5 for passenger. The event includes a post-ride meal at the American Legion Middletown, 950 N. 10th St., Middletown.

Sign-up starts at 10 a.m. with kickstands up at noon.

Markleville ice cream social July 27

MARKLEVILLE — The Adams Markleville Fire Protection Territory, 7457 S. 200E, will have its annual ice cream social from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

There will be activities for all ages including a spray house, smoke house simulator and antique fire truck rides. A Statflight helicopter and the Madison County’s Sheriffs Department will also be there.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, desserts and ice cream will be available.

Gruenewald hosting ‘Something Special’

ANDERSON — The Gruenewald Historic House will host its second in a series on Something Special Luncheons on Friday, July 19. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 648-6875 for lunch at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m.

Guest servers are Gail Jones-Burris of the Paramount Theatre; Bob Reeder, United Faith Housing; and Jane and Rob Loose from Moneyhun’s and Robert D. Loose Funeral Home.

A “Christmas in July” menu features ham loaf, cranberry salad, dinner rolls, deviled eggs, steamed Christmas pudding, stuffed strawberries, apple spice tea and mini scones and pistachio bread. Father Christmas will be there and Beverly Scott will provide music.
