DHS Class of ‘68 to host 45-year reunion

DALEVILLE -- The Daleville High School Class of 1968 will hold its 45th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 14. They will celebrate with a pitch-in at the Daleville Lions Club, 8520 S. Edwards St., Daleville, beginning at 4 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m.

Dr. Elliott to give presentation Saturday

PENDLETON -- Have you seen it all? Done it all? And, can’t remember most of it? We all experience the common effects of aging. Memory loss is one of those symptoms.

The Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 E. Water St., is bringing former Pendleton family physician, Dr. Stephen Elliott, to discuss the difference on Saturday at 10 a.m. He will be available to answer questions.

Pulled pork dinner is this weekend

ANDERSON -- A barbecue pulled pork dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and at noon Sunday at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road.

The menu includes pulled pork sandwiches (hot dogs for the kids), baked beans, cole slaw, dessert and drinks. Tickets are $7 for adults (12 and over); $5 for children 5-11; and children under four, eat free. Carry-outs will be available.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary serving up spaghetti

ANDERSON -- The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266 Ladies Auxiliary will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the post at 3210 Columbus Ave.

The price is $6. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and desert. Carry-outs are available. For more information call 642-8561.

AHS Class of ‘53 to gather Monday

ANDERSON -- The Anderson High School Class of 1953 and guests meet for lunch at MCL Cafeteria at Mounds Mall the third Monday of each month.

This month’s meeting will be Aug. 19.

Legion hosting benefit ride for Paul Fields

FRANKTON -- The Frankton American Legion will host a motorcycle benefit ride for the late Paul Fields on Saturday. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. with the first bike out at 11 a.m. The cost is $10 per rider and $5 per passenger.

A biscuits and gravy breakfast with fried potatoes will be available for $3 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Fields Brothers Band will perform after the ride at approximately 6 p.m. Food will be available.

‘Lion, Witch & Wardrobe’ starts Aug. 23

MUNCIE -- Muncie Civic Theatre will present “The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe” on the Mainstage Theatre on Aug. 23-24, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, and Sept. 5-7.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday Matinee on Sept. 1 is at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for Groups of 10+, and $10 for students & children.
