Loose cattle close Interstate 65 lanes
FRANKFORT — Police say traffic was blocked for hours overnight on a section of Interstate 65 in central Indiana after a crash between two semitrailers left cattle loose along the highway.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department said that the crash happened in I-65’s northbound lanes about midnight near the Clinton-Boone County line about 30 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
Plan for dog park sculpture tabled
BLOOMINGTON — A proposal to turn an ailing cottonwood tree into a sculpture at a Bloomington dog park appears to have died without a whimper.
Monroe County Parks and Recreation Department officials hoped the 60-year-old tree could have a new life as a dog sculpture that would last 20 to 30 years with the proper care at the Karst Farm Dog Park. The tree will likely be removed because its wood has no resistance to decay and insects.
