'Light Up the Magic' set for Saturday in Elwood

ELWOOD — On Saturday, Elwood will host “Light Up the Magic Christmas.”

The magic begins at noon with the Mistletoe Magic Christmas Market at the City Building. The market will feature more than 30 vendors and will be open until 5 p.m.

The countdown to lighting downtown begins at 5:20 p.m. at the city fountain with special guests flipping the switch at 5:30 p.m. Buildings on Anderson Street and part of Main Street in Elwood will be illuminated in colored lights.

At 6 p.m., the Festival of Trees will open in the Elwood Opera House followed by the second Bring Back the Magic Christmas Parade through downtown at 6:30 p.m. with an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

There will be music, activities, new stores and booth areas for shopping all along Anderson Street in downtown Elwood.

The evening will conclude with caroling around the city fountain, which will be transformed into the city Christmas tree.
