Help needed for holiday dinner

ANDERSON — The Gospel Highlight Radio Broadcast is looking for volunteers to help with its 31st annual community Thanksgiving Day dinner. The dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Volunteers are needed in the days leading up to Thanksgiving to help prepare food, unload food and set up tables and chairs. Volunteers are needed on the day of the event to help with last-minute setup, serving and delivering to the sick and shut-ins. A cleanup crew is also needed afterward. Donations of food and money are also welcome.

Donations can also be mailed to Gospel Highlight Broadcast, P.O. Box 3006, Anderson, IN 46018. Checks should be made out to “Thanksgiving Day Dinner.”

McFarland to speak to County Tea Party

ANDERSON — The Madison County Tea Party will have guest speaker Stephanie McFarland at its 6:30 p.m. Thursday meeting at the FOP Lodge, 2614 Mounds Road.

McFarland will speak about the EPA’s crusade to destroy the coal industry, the goal and regulations meant to shut down coal-fired electricity.

Jeff King will speak on “The Rise and Fall of the Eagle: America Reclaiming Its Commitment to God.”

Triad to host health care forum

ANDERSON — Madison County Triad will host an Affordable Care Act meeting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mounds Mall in the theater area. Representatives from both Anderson hospitals and the Madison County Community Health Center will make presentations and answer questions about how the new act.

Adult ed prep classes offered

ANDERSON — Anderson Community Schools will offer Adult Education preparation classes for the new High School Equivalency Assessment (HSEA), along with Adult English Language classes, Education Refresher classes for College and Careers, and Basic Skills classes for the 2013-14 school year. Anyone interested in taking an Adult Education or HSEA class must attend a one-hour orientation and take a three-hour pretest to establish learning levels.
