Mayor's Matinee to return Dec. 21
ANDERSON — The Mayor's Youth Commission and the Anderson Parks Department are presenting the return of the Mayor's Movie Matinee.
This month's free movie, "The Polar Express." The show will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the City Hall Auditorium.
There will be refreshments including popcorn, hot chocolate, candy canes, hot dogs, and candy bars.
Free clinical breast exam Dec. 20
ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson's next free clinical breast exams will be from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, in the Women's Center.
Jill Hensley and Pam Davis, nurse navigators at Community Anderson, will perform the exams.
Register by calling 298-1617. Community Hospital Anderson will continue to offer free clinical breast exams monthly in 2014. Upcoming dates are: Jan. 17, Feb. 21 and March 21.
Ballerina Spa set for Dec. 20
ANDERSON — The Ballerina Spa will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20.
Each little princess may choose two ballerina spa services — hair, make-up or nails provided by a professional stylist from ClipZone. United Way’s Born Learning will also provide fun learning activities. A photo of each ballerina princess and a gift bag will also be included.
The event will be held in the former congressional offices next to Paramount Theatre on Meridian street.
Cost is $25 per child. Call 608-3064 to schedule your time.
All proceeds will benefit United Way of Madison County.
Monthly breakfast served Saturday
MARKLEVILLE — The Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) East Christian Church, Markleville will have its monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. in the downstairs church fellowship hall.
The menu includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee, with a free will offering accepted.
The East Christian Church is located at 124 E. Main St., Markleville and is handicap accessible.
