---- — Lions Club to serve roasted corn

ANDERSON — The Anderson Noon Lions Club will be selling roasted corn at the Andersontown Powwow Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. each day.

Funds raised will be used for the club's community projects.

'Rock the Teens' event Saturday

ELWOOD — Families Forever will host a "Rock the Teens" event from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Calloway Park, featuring eight bands. At 6 or 6:30 p.m., 20-year-old Jazzmin Brown will give a testimony about her struggle with drugs.

Bands performing will include Kileon, Healing Love, Nations Ever Changed, Letting Love, Never Cease, Saints of Denial, and A World Apart.

AHS class of '47 to meet

ALEXANDRIA — The Anderson High School Class of 1947 will hold its 66-year class reunion on Thursday, Sept 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the 4-H building in Alexandria.

The luncheon will be pitch-in. All class members and friends are invited.

Chicken noodle dinner Monday

ALEXANDRIA — Church Street Commons, 204 W. Church St., will host its monthly fundraiser dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, serving chicken and noodles.

Cost is $6 and carry out is available. Call 623-5380 by 11 a.m. today for deliveries. All proceeds benefit Tutor Mentoring, Heaven's Warehouse and Youth For Christ (Campus Life).

Library hosts Brown Bag Lunch

ANDERSON — The Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St., will host its next Brown Bag Lunch featuring a “Tailgating” theme at noon Thursday, Sept. 12. The program is free.

Attendees are invited to bring a lunch and discuss pre-game excitement and tailgate party ideas with David Gillaspy in the Cardinal Room on the third floor of the library. Registration is not required.

'Alzheimer's Blowout' Sept. 14

ANDERSON — Home Instead Senior Care will host an "Alzheimer's Blowout" from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2604 N. Scatterfield Road.

This event is free and will include face painting, games, a bounce house and prizes.

Book sale Sept. 13-14

ANDERSON — The Friends of the Library will hold their monthly book sale on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13 and 14, at the Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St.

The sale is from noon to 4:30 p.m both days and open to the public.

This month's sale has large selection of hardbound and paperback books. These books are available in a "dollar a bag" special sale. Hardbound books are priced as low as 50 cents each and paperback books are as low as 10 cents each.

All proceeds from the sale are used to benefit programs of the Anderson Public Library.

Fairmount alumni reunion Sept. 28

FAIRMOUNT — The 14th annual Fairmount High School alumni reunion will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 28 in the gym behind the old school, 401 S. Vine St. The event will honor the class of 1963.

Anyone who attended Fairmount Junior or Senior High School, teachers and other staff are welcome to attend.

Refreshments will be available. Shuttle service will also be available to the high school.
