Mary Todd Lincoln show is Saturday

PENDLETON — Actress MaryAnne Mathews of Carmel will present her one-woman show, "A Visit With Mary Todd Lincoln" at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 E. Water St.

Admission is free for the one-hour show. However, RSVPs are appreciated by calling the library at (765) 778-7527 or emailing ashannon@pendleton.lib.in.us to reserve a seat.

Mathews wrote the one-hour performance based on the life of the wife of the 16th president.

White River Watchers to host Saturday clean-up

DALEVILLE — Volunteers are to meet at Canoe Country in Daleville to register at 8:30 a.m. for Saturday's White River Watchers clean-up. For more information, call Sheryl Myers at 620-4166. All volunteers receive a hot lunch and souvenir T-shirt.

Tenth Street to close Saturday

ANDERSON — Tenth Street between Jackson and Meridian streets will be closed on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as an air conditioning unit will be installed, according to a press release from the City of Anderson Engineering Department.

PHHS to hold adult swim

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights High School pool will be open for adult swimming beginning Monday. Swims are from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday that school is in session.

The swims are for anyone interested in lap swimming, physical therapy, and/or aqua-jogging. The cost is $2 per person per swim. If you have questions, call Annie Wills at 778-2002 or e-mail at awills@smcsc.com.

Teens get 50 years for fatal break-in

GOSHEN — A judge has sentenced three northern Indiana teenagers to 50 or more years in prison on murder convictions after an accomplice was fatally shot by a homeowner during a break-in.

Elkhart Circuit Judge Terry Shewmaker sentenced 17-year-old Blake Layman of Elkhart and 19-year-old Anthony Perez Sharp Jr. of Goshen to 55 years in prison Thursday and 18-year-old Levi Sparks of Elkhart to 50 years in prison.
