County property tax sale Tuesday

ANDERSON — Madison County will conduct a tax sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Anderson City Auditorium, 120 E. 8th. St., for properties that have delinquent taxes and special assessments due from the prior year's spring installment.

According to Madison County Treasurer Kelly Gaskill, there are 2,052 properties available for the tax sale totaling $9,314,995.50 in delinquencies. Madison County has contracted with SRI, Inc., to conduct the sale.

Those interested in registering and bidding at the sale should visit for information.

Mounds Friends meet Thursday

ANDERSON — The Friends of Mounds State Park will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 in the Multipurpose Room in the Nature Center.

They will be discussing progress of new Friends Shelter House, continuing work on the Bronnenberg House, completed Program Area near campground and up-coming programs.

The public is welcome.

First Monday Prayer Fellowship

ANDERSON — Members and friends of Church Women United of Madison County Area 8 will meet Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Main Street Church of God, 4211 S. Madison Ave.

The meeting will be in the building west of the church.

This meeting is ecumenically structured and a free will offering will be collected for local projects.

Portion of Tenth Street closed Saturday

ANDERSON — Tenth Street between Jackson and Meridian street will be closed Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as R.H. Marlin works on a bank building, according to a press release from the City of Anderson Engineering Department.

Hospital hosts blood draw Friday

MUNCIE — Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital will host a blood drive in partnership with the Indiana Blood Center from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the South Tower Atrium.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointment scheduling is encouraged. Participants may log on to to make an appointment. All donors will receive a card with discounts from area merchants. Please bring photo identification and have a light snack prior to donating. Juice and cookies will be provided at the donation site. Participation takes less than one hour and a cholesterol, blood pressure, blood type and iron check are included in the donation process.
