Epilepsy group plans field trip
ANDERSON — Anderson’s Epilepsy Support Group has scheduled a field trip to visit the Epilepsy Support Group of Indianapolis from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Currently there are three car pool volunteers with nine seats available. Volunteers have scheduled to meet at Park Place Community Center (where meetings are held) at 12:45 p.m. and will be leaving at 1 p.m.

Bat expert to visit Mounds State Park
ANDERSON — Visitors to Mounds State Park, 4306 Mounds Road, on Oct. 25 can get an up-close look at bats and learn about the flying mammals during a presentation by Ball State University bat expert Tim Carter.
The hour-long presentation is at 7 p.m. in the visitors center. Audience members will have a chance to become an honorary bat biologist for the evening. Carter, an associate professor of biology, will bring several bats, including a big brown bat.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of Mounds State Park group and is free after the standard entrance fee of $5 for in-state vehicles and $7 for out-of-state vehicles.
Parents' Night Out Oct. 25
ANDERSON — East Lynn Christian Church, 522 E. 53rd St., will host a Parents' Night Out from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Children from ages 3 to 12 are welcome.
Activies will include supper, games, crafts and Halloween fun. Children may dress in costume.

Dine to Donate for Gateway Oct. 26
ANDERSON — Gateway Association, the only nationally accredited child care center in Anderson, will have a Dine to Donate fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 26 at Ruby Tuesday, 5530 Scatterfield Road.

Church hosts cooking class Nov. 9
MATTHEWS — The November 9 “Homemade from the Heart” Cooking Class at Epworth United Methodist Church, 105 W. 8th St., Matthews will feature "Brunch for Lunch." Participants will make their own ready-to-bake breakfast/brunch casserole from Tastefully Simple specialty bread, taught by Trudy Walker. Also included will be individual cheesecake desserts.

Community Hospital to hold book fair
ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson’s Auxiliary will host a “Books Are Fun” book fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 23, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s cafeteria.
Books and gifts will be available at discounted prices. The book fair is open to the public and benefits the charitable sponsorships of the Auxiliary.
