---- — Daleville post hosts all-day event
DALEVILLE — American Legion Riders 10th district will host a Halloween Ride and Rodeo and other events Saturday at the Daleville Legion Post 446, 14708 W. 6th St.
An-all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. opens the event. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12.
A Halloween motorcycle ride is planned with signup at 10 a.m. and kickstands up at 11 a.m. Cost is $10 per rider and $5 per passenger, chili lunch included. A motorcycle rodeo with field event competitions will be from 1 to 3 p.m. with a $5 entry fee.
At 8 p.m. the band Str8 Shooters will entertain.
Proceeds will benefit local families for Thanksgiving. The event is also hosted by ALR Post 408 and Steel Riders MC.
Elwood Halloween parade Oct. 30
ELWOOD — The Elwood Chamber of Commerce, along with the Elwood Veterans of Foreign Wars, will host the annual Halloween Parade at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Parade lineup will begin at 5:45 p.m. behind Star Financial Bank, at the intersection of Anderson Street and South “A” Street.
The Chamber and VFW will be handing out “treat bags” to all participating children and would like your help in providing the candy to fill each bag. If you, or your organization, are willing to donate candy, drop off your candy donations to the Elwood Chamber of Commerce, located at 108 S. Anderson St., prior to this Friday.
The Chamber is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day this week.
Church hosts Fall Festival
ANDERSON — New Life Apostolic Church, 2230 Jefferson St., will host its annual Fall Festival from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
There will be games, hot dogs and prizes.
Wright Christmas Walk upcoming
HAGERSTOWN — The Wilbur Wright Birthplace volunteers are preparing for the 10th annual Christmas Walk and Festival of Trees on Nov. 8-9 and Nov. 15-16 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Deadline for tree entry is Nov. 4.
Trunk-or-treat Oct. 30
ANDERSON — Community Northview, 1235 W. Cross St., Anderson, will host a Halloween trunk-or-treat on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 5:30 p.m. for children ages 1-12.
There will be a storyteller in the lounge, a parade-around so staff and residents can see the kids, donuts and cider in the front lobby and candy and treats outside in the trunks.
4,000 wooden pumpkins to be displayed
ALEXANDRIA — More than 4,000 wooden pumpkins and over 300 cartoon characters will be on display from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.
The display is on a 4-mile section of County Road 200W, Alexandria, beginning at Indiana 128 and Indiana 28.
Halloween family night events planned
ALEXANDRIA — A Halloween Fun and Family Night will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farm Bureau Building at the Madison County 4-H Fairgrounds.
There will be crafts, games and treats.
The event is being sponsored by the Madison County 4-H Junior Leaders.
