Myers will hold groundbreaking
ANDERSON — Myers Autoworld will hold a groundbreaking at its new site today at 4 pm.
Myers Autoworld officials, Mayor Kevin Smith and community leaders will be on hand at the development site at 2901-2903 Scatterfield Road, a former General Motors plant site.
Humane Society reopens for limited business
ANDERSON — The Madison County Humane Society, 2219 Crystal St., reopened Monday for limited business. The office and the outside kennel area are the only areas currently open to the public.
At this time the only volunteers needed are dog walkers. Volunteers are still not allowed access to the outside shelter building.

Fresh produce giveaway in Elwood
ELWOOD — The Madison County Community Health Center in conjunction with Second Harvest Food Bank will launch a fresh produce giveaway in Elwood at the Northern Madison County Community Health Center, 1518 Main St., today from 2 to 4 p.m.
The produce is at no cost to the public. There will also be blood pressure checks and other services offered at the site. Residents are asked to limit one quantity of produce per household. For more information, call Kimberly Townsend at 617-0059.
Legion to host new program for veterans
ANDERSON — American Legion Post 127, 4118 Columbus Ave., is hosting a new program at 3 p.m. Wednesday for veterans who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or any other issues from their service.
Dr. David Tarr, who has 35 years as a counselor with the VA, will preside over the program to help veterans.
The program is free and you do not have to be a member of the post.
Crime Watch meeting set for tonight
ANDERSON — The East Side Crime Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at East Side Church of God.

Pagano to address Anderson residents
ANDERSON — Indianapolis Colts Coach Chuck Pagano will speak to local residents during a breakfast fundraiser at 6:45 a.m. Thursday at the Paramount Ballroom and Theatre, 1124 Meridian St. The program begins at 7:20 a.m.

First Merchants opens new location
ANDERSON — First Merchants Bank announces the consolidation of the 416 E. Hartman Road and the 1933 University Blvd. locations into 1801 N. Scatterfield Road. The new Scatterfield banking center officially opened Monday.
A grand opening celebration and open house is planned for Friday, Aug. 30.
