ANDERSON, Ind. — The Colts will hold their final public practice before Sunday’s preseason opener at 1:50 p.m.
The session likely will include a refresher course on the Buffalo Bills’ schemes and personnel. With a new head coach, Doug Marrone, and a new quarterback, likely rookie E.J. Manuel, it’s hard to know what to expect from the visitors on Sunday.
Indianapolis will combat that by continuing to focus inward. Protecting the football on offense and taking it away on defense are two of head coach Chuck Pagano’s primary goals heading into the exhibition debut.
The defense delivered Thursday afternoon with a pair of interceptions during a rainy practice at Macholtz Stadium.
