KISSISSIMMEE, Fla. —
The Anderson University softball team lost to McDaniel 7-1, but rebounded to defeat Springfield 5-4 in the final two games at the Osceola County Softball Complex on Friday.
Against McDaniel, Katie McCool led the Raven offense with three hits and Samantha Steele scored a run on an error off Lys Hess bat to leftfield.
Devin Moorman took the loss, allowing five hits and three earned runs in 4.1 innings while striking out four.
Against Springfield, Yardley Collett had the game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh and Katy Ogden drove in the winning run with one out.
Megan Ream scored the winning run after hitting a triple to follow Collett’s home run.
Natalie Moorhouse led the offense with two hits and two RBI, including a double and Ogden added two hits. Steele also had two hits and Katie McCool added an RBI single.
Hannah Belvo was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits and one earned run in seven innings while striking out five with one walk.
AU (7-5) travels to Wittenberg next Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
