FRANKTON, Ind. —
The score remained at a 13-point margin for much of the third quarter until the Tigers mounted a late surge. Bryan Carter capped the drive with a 3-yard run with 1:08 remaining, and Alexandria took a commanding 34-14 lead into the final quarter.
Hodges scored from 5 yards out with 10:45 to play in the game, and freshman Dylan Downing capped the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown run with 5:06 remaining.
There was a scary moment just before the end of the first half when Frankton senior Colton Waymire went down behind the Eagles' sideline. He appeared to get his leg caught underneath the Frankton bench and was taken to a local hospital.
Early reports were Waymire suffered a broken tibia.
Alexandria hosts Madison-Grant next week. Frankton travels to Blackford.
