HANOVER, Ind. —
The Anderson University baseball team defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Hanover College 10-9 on Friday afternoon at Hanover.
The victory was the sixth in a row for the Ravens as they went over the .500 mark for the season and improved to 16-15 overall.
The Ravens scored five runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth and two in the fifth to lead 10-2. However, Hanover plated six in the bottom of the sixth to cut the deficit to 10-9.
Jacob Craft led the Ravens’ offense with three hits, two runs and two RBIs, and Cole Heberling had three hits and two RBIs, including a double.
Zack Hufferd and Connor Morris also had three hits each as the Ravens pounded out 17 in the game. Jeremy Shelmadine chipped in with two doubles and two RBIs.
Nolan Schaefer earned the victory on the mound, allowing 11 hits and eight runs in 6 2/3 innings while striking out seven.
Blake Hall earned his third save of the season, pitching the final 2 1/3 innings without allowing a hit.
AU (16-15, 10-6 HCAC) travels to Hanover for a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
