Area roundup: Bulldogs blast Broncos with big second inning

LAPEL — Brooke Daniels went 2-for-2 with a home run and five RBIs Monday to lead Lapel to a 19-3 thrashing of Daleville.

The Bulldogs also got three RBIs from Mackenzie Land and Kristen Rich and two RBIs from Katelyn Willis. Rich finished 2-for-4 at the plate, Land was 1-1 and Willis was 1-1 with two walks and was twice hit by a pitch.

Lapel (8-7) travels to Triton Central today.

Eagles soar past Tigers

ALEXANDRIA — Kaylee Irwin and Caitlin Clark each homered to back starting pitcher Kylie Garner, and Frankton blew past Alexandria 11-1 in Central Indiana Conference action.

Irwin finished with three total hits, and Lexi Gray went 3-for-3 for the Eagles. Taylor Ryan added two hits in support of Garner, who struck out six and surrendered just three hits.

Hailee Beeson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and drove in the Tigers' only run. Hannah Murphy was 1-for-2 with a double.

Frankton (9-2) travels to Pendleton Heights today.


Broncos' big bats silence Lions

DALEVILLE — Eliott Jackson went 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs as Daleville routed Liberty Christian 11-1.

Caleb Maddox also went 1-for-3 with a two-run double for the Broncos, and Wes Biven was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Brent Blackwell was 1-for-2 with a double at the plate and scattered four hits over four scoreless innings to pick up the win on the mound.
