Benefit set at PHHS

PENDLETON — A benefit car show and corn hole tournament will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pendleton Heights High School, 1 Arabian Drive, Pendleton.

Registration for the open car and bike show begins at noon. Car show fee is $5; corn hole tournament, $10 a team/maximum 20 teams.

There will be a 50/50 drawing and food provided by Greek's Pizzeria.

All proceeds will go to benefit Laura Eldridge.

LifeStream to provide free Medicare Part D consultations

YORKTOWN — LifeStream Services is providing free Medicare Part D consultation sessions with trained State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselors during Medicare Open Enrollment.

To schedule an appointment with a SHIP counselor, participants need to contact LifeStream Services by calling 1-800-589-1121.

Participants can enroll for the first time or change their existing Medicare Part D plan during their scheduled appointment. Those participating should also bring a list of their medications and their Medicare cards to the appointment. Those interested must call ahead to make an appointment.

Madison County residents may call 800-589-1121 to schedule an appointment.

TBI support group meets Monday

ANDERSON — The Traumatic Brain Injury support group will meet from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St.

The group meets once a month at the library. The group is lead by Mike Boyer, a traumatic brain injury survivor himself. The group is for survivors, family, and loved ones that are living with a TBI, or anyone who has been affected by a TBI.

Occasionally there will be speakers sharing information with the group on TBIs. This is the only Traumatic Brain Injury support group in Madison County.

Refreshments are served, and there is no cost involved to attend meeting.

Lapel church hosts flea market

LAPEL — The Lapel Trinity United Methodist Church, 217 E. Seventh St., will have a flea market on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

AHS Class of '56 to have lunch

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of '56 will hold its monthly luncheon at noon on Tuesday at Ruby Tuesdays Restaurant, Anderson.

All class members and guests are invited.

Acrylic paint class being offered

ANDERSON — Artist Samson Hunckler is available to guide both new and experienced adult painters in a new class at the Anderson Museum of Art. Students will work with acrylic paint on canvas with a variety of subjects and themes.

Some paint, brushes, and paper for sketches will be provided for students and canvases will be available for a small fee. Cost is $80 and $75 for members. Class will run on Wednesdays, Oct. 17, 24, 31, and Nov. 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
