Melanie Jo (Vermillion) Wiley, 58, Anderson, passed away July 6, 2008, at her residence suddenly.  

She was born Nov. 22, 1949, in Anderson and resided in Anderson all of her life.

Melanie was a homemaker and had a home office as a disability advocate.

She was a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ. Her Pomeranians and her grandchildren were her passion. She loved raising Killi fish and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Patrick M. and wife Brenda Wiley, Melissa A. and husband Kenneth Harris and Greggory A. and wife Samantha Wiley; grandchildren, Andrew Harris, Heather Wiley, Allissa Harris, Nathan Wiley, Bailey Morgan and Nicolas Wiley; siblings, Douglas and Melanie Sue Vermillion, Don and Rachel Hobart, Disco and Pam Vermillion, Stephanie and Ron Taylor, and Scott and Shari Vermillion; and father-in-law, G. Carl Wiley Jr. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and special friends, Nancy and Terry Slusser.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband who passed away in 2006, Gerald “Garry” Wiley; parents, Thamar “Doc” and Evelyn Marie (Archer) Vermillion; and brother, Thamar Vermillion Jr.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the South Chapel.
