PENDLETON — Julia Ann (Pugh) Potter, 85, Pendleton, died Nov. 20, 2007, at Community Hospital Anderson, after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Kentucky, and resided in Pendleton. She taught elementary school at Kendall Elementary in Marion and retired in 1980. Julia resided in Marion for 40 years and moved to Pendleton in July 2007.
In 1960, Julia received her bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Roehm of Akron, Ohio; son, Neil M. (wife, Alberta) Potter of Pendleton; sisters, June Holbrook and Rosemary Pugh, both of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Glenn Roehm of Syracuse, N.Y., Laurie Steding (Todd) of Syracuse, N.Y., and Jennifer (Scott) Smitherman of Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Heather Roehm, Daniel Steding, Samantha Roehm and Ashley Smitherman.
She was preceded by her husband, John M. Potter, whom she married Nov. 8, 1941; and her parents, Matilda (Rowe) and Glenn W. Pugh.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with the Rev. Jack Duckworth officiating.
A committal ceremony will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery Chapel in Marion at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the South Chapel.
